Use a thimble when applying the push pins into the foam to avoid injury to your fingertips. |

Pick out different pieces of fabric that compliment each other. I was able to find a more heavy duty fabric that is meant to be used for making re-usable shopping bags. I found this locally at Jo-Ann Fabrics. |
If the styrofoam pieces are not already the proper size they can be trimmed down using a sharp kitchen knife. Luckily I had a variety of pieces that came as shipping material. If you do not have styrofoam pieces, they can be bought at your local craft / hobby store and also online. This project could also be done utilizing a piece of wood or other material as backing and attaching the fabric to it using a staple gun.

Lay the styrofoam piece on top of the fabric and trim the fabric so that it will fold over the back side of the styrofoam by approximately 2".
Fold over the corners as shown in this picture and fasten the fabric to the styrofoam using stickpins. By folding the corners in this fashion it gives it a very neat and tailored look.

To hang them on the wall I used four pieces of a heavy duty double sided foam tape (one in each corner). Lay out your pattern and be sure to use a level and tape measure to make them nice and even. |
When you have larger pieces they look best hung in odd numbers.

Here is an example of how I used a single piece in a small space.

I even dressed up the area above my husband's desk by using four more narrow pieces and hung them vertically.
