| Note: On this project we are unable to give you specific quantities of materials that you will need to complete the project as this will vary depending upon the width of your window and how many windows you intend to cover. For this project we covered three windows that are 34" wide using 2 shower curtains, 3 curtain rods and 18 curtain clips to cover all three windows. |

Step 1:
Measure your windows from the outside of the casing or trim to determine the best layout for the curtains. Our windows are about 34" wide from outside trim to outside trim. For this size of window it worked well to cut one shower curtain into three equal pieces. A standard shower curtain is 72" wide by 72" tall, so as a good rule you should make the curtains about 25% wider than the window. This will give the curtains more fullness when they are closed.
Step 2:Once you have the curtains cut the next step is to hang your curtain rods, but before you start setting your drywall anchors you should experiment with the look of the curtains. Have a friend hold up the curtain rod with the curtain panels on it at various heights and widths to find the best look. On this project we set the hangers for the curtain rod just to the outsides of the window trim and slightly above the top of the window trim.

Step 3:
Now that the hangers are up and your panels are cut you can hang the curtains and enjoy. Our original inspiration for this project was the shower curtain we found on clearance at Walmart for $5.00 Realizing the cost of finding window treatments to match we decided to use the shower curtains as the window treatments.

A Little Extra:We took this project a step further and mounted an extendable vanity mirror to the wall just to the side of the trim. When the vanity mirror is fully retracted the mirror is hidden perfectly behind the curtain.
