Are you looking for some extra time-saving, money-saving practical tips? I know I am! Every Tuesday, together with Good Deal Mama, Jessica's Coupons, and Kroger Krazy, (AKA "The Tipsters") we will share our own individual tips that will either help you save time or money, or maybe even both!

Today's Tip is brought to you by Jessica from Jessica's Coupons!

December has been Beauty Tips Month…and I thought I would offer some Frugal and Easy Nail Tips!

Whiten Your Nails
Here is a quick tip o whiten your nails…I tried it and I did notice a slight different
-Lightly buff the top of your nails -Add 1/2 cup of really warm water in a bowl -Add 4 tablespoons of baking soda and stir until mostly dissolved -Add 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide -Soak nails in the solution for about a minute (or longer)

Use Cooking Spray to Set Your Manicure
I have been doing this for about a month…it sets your manicure and cuts down on the drying time. I let my nails air dry for about 30 seconds and then I spray them with a light coat of Cooking Spray. I let them set for about a minute and the rinse under cold water.

No Mess-up Polishing
If you have an unsteady hand, be sure to apply Aquaphor or Vaseline around the nail to prevent errant nail polish strokes. If you get the polish on your skin, just take a cotton swab and it easily wipes away.

DIY Nail Box & Easy Polish Color Coding Tip
You don’t need a fancy smancy box to store your nail care items…simply select a lovely shoe box (or other type of box similar in size). If you don’t already have a pretty box you can cover any box with a pretty wrapping paper.
Place all nail care items in the box and you will have it all in one convenient place when you need it.
Also you can color code the bottle tops of your nail polish so you can select your color at a glance. Just take white labels, dab a swatch of nail color, allow to dry and then use a one hole punch. Place dot on the polish lid. Easy color coding!

Today's Tip is brought to you by Katie from Kroger Krazy!
I am a wipe-obsessed person. Window wipes, furniture wipes, bathroom disinfectant wipes, baby wipes, flushable wipes, facial wipes…if it ends in “wipe”, I am all over it! It’s just so easy to pull out a wipe and get the job done! In turn, this wipe obsession has made me quite lazy. What? Splash water on my face, open the cleanser, scrub face, rinse, dab with towel. No, no, no…far too much work. I will never go back. The problem then becomes that wipes can be expensive…especially facial wipes. I just ran out of my last package and as I was searching for coupons – DING DING DING (enter thought bubble) – I can totally make these! So I did some research, tried a few concoctions and I finally came up with something that works great!
Supplies needed:
- Paper Towels (I use Viva because they are super thick and strong)
- 2 TBS Johnson’s Head to Toe Baby Wash (or your favorite facial cleanser)
- 2 TBS Coconut Oil (Vitacost sells this at a great price, plus get a $10/$30 credit at signup!)
- 1 TBS Witch Hazel (optional, this is used as a toner/astringent)
- 1 C Water
- Container with lid (I used an old flushable wipes container)

Step #1 Measure Coconut Oil into a microwavable dish and heat for 30-45 seconds until melted. Pour into container.

Step #2 Measure and add Water, Baby Wash or Cleanser, and Witch Hazel to container. Mix around a bit to incorporate everything.

Step #3 Cut your paper towel roll in half using a butcher knife (serrated knife will make a mess).

Step #4 Unroll paper towels and fold them back and forth to make them easier to pull out.

Step #5 CAREFULLY place the folded paper towels in container and push down to soak up all the liquid. Keep lid closed so they stay moist. BOOM: Facial wipes!!

Alternate Ending
After Step 3 above, instead of unrolling the paper towels you could also pull out the center cardboard tube and pull the wipes from the center of the roll. The place in a round container with a lid.
Note: There are many different ingredients you can use for these, depending on your preference, skin type, etc. I used Johnson’s Baby Wash because I had a ton of it in my stockpile, it is gentle and the only kind of facial cleansers I had on hand were too creamy/mousse-y (that’s a word!) or had scrubbing beads. I think next time I will try it with an actual facial cleanser that is clear.

OH MY! I am so excited to tell you that my FAVE boots, the R2 Mackenzie tall suede boots from 6pm.com are priced at only $24.99 today (reg. $70)! I own both the brown and black pair and absolutely love these boots! Remember, shipping is FREE!
I've pretty much been wearing the heck out of both colors and am truly happy with how well they have held up! These boots have a wider calf circumference (which I need for my meatier legs), and a very comfortable wedge heel that doesn't make you feel like you are going to topple over!

The stitching looks real good, the zipper works smooth, and the bottom of the boots have a rubber bottom. All in all, I am 100% completely satisfied with these boots! You can wear these boots with the flap up or with the flap down like shown below!

Today's tip is brought to you by yours truly!
Do you run to the salon the minute your eyebrows start to grow out? It's costly isn't it! If you wax your eyebrows once a month and pay $10 - $15 each time you go, you are spending upwards of $180 per year on something you could be taking care of at home for less than $20 for the entire year!

These are the products I use to wax my eyebrows at home:
- GiGi Hemp Wax $10.99 at Sally Beauty Supply (This will last you all year..maybe longer!)
- GiGi Muslin Strips $6.99 (This will also last you a very long time! Just cut to size!)
- Craft sticks found at Walmart or any craft store (aka popsicle sticks)
- Baby oil & cotton balls (To remove leftover wax)
- Tweezers (For the strays)
Simple Steps To Waxing Your Eyebrows At Home

Step #1: Make sure you have all of your supplies ready. Once the wax heats up, you don't want to be running around looking for the necessary tools to do the task. This includes cutting the strips to size. A good size is about 1 inch. You will want to be prepared with extra strips.

Step #2: Refer to the guide above. You never want to wax too far in from the natural start of your eyebrow (line A) and you never want to wax too much making your eyebrow line too short (line B).

Step #3: Heat the wax according to directions on container. It's helpful if you heat it in spurts rather than all at once. Kind of like when melting chocolate in the microwave. Heat, stir, repeat. The wax should run off the popsicle stick slowly and smoothly. If it's too drippy, let it sit for a few moment to cool off. You can always test it on the back of your hand.

Step #4: Apply the wax with the popsicle stick to the area where you want the hair removed. The slower you apply the wax the better. I find it easiest if my face is right up to the mirror. If you end up getting wax in areas you don't want removed, just peel it off with your finger or use a baby oil soaked cotton ball.

Step #5: Apply the muslin strip and smooth your fingers over the waxed area assuring that the wax is adhering to the strip. I usually rub the area back and forth a few times.

Step #6: When you are ready to remove the muslin strip, grab a hold of the end, and quickly yank in the opposite direction of the hair growth. If you have leftover wax still on your skin, you can just find a clean area on the strip, or use a new strip, press down on the wax and quickly pull away.
Step #7: Once you are done with the bigger areas, you will most likely have some "clean-up" to do. I personally would not wax over the same spot more than twice. You risk the chance of damaging the skin. For the strays left over, use a tweezer. To remove the leftover wax, soak a cotton ball with baby oil and rub the skin gently. Be sure to wash the area with a a mild face soap when you are done and condition the skin with a light moisturizer. You will most likely be red (and possibly sore at first) for awhile. This should go away within a half hour or so.
*Disclaimer: I am not a licensed esthetician. This post is simply sharing with you how I taught myself to do this at home which has saved me money every month. Please read all package directions thoroughly before starting.
