It's that time of year again when a fresh calendar goes up on the fridge! I know most people start new in January, but I like to start in September when school starts! I've tried using different calendars over the years and the only one that suits our needs is the Moms Plan-It calendar that starts in August and goes through December of the following year! I love the pocket at the bottom of the calendar to store things like stamps, invitations and bills that are due! The magnets on both the top and the bottom are strong so there is no fear of it falling off the fridge!

The 2012 Mom's Plan-It Plus is only $10.19 with FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders $25 or more! This comes with a bonus Week-At-A-Glance White Board! The calendar comes with 494 Event/Reminder stickers!

You could also add the 2012 Mom's Plan-It Engagement Calendar Planner for only $10.19 with FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders $25 or more! This is a 9 1/2 x 11 planner that comes with 624 stickers for marking important reminders and events, and also includes a sleeve for business cards and elastic band closure!

*Note: Amazon does not offer much information about the planner, but you can see it here!

WOW! I can't believe the price on this! Walmart has the Ninja Master Prep Food Processor for only $33.54 + FREE Site To Store Shipping! I bought this 6 months ago for well over $50! I use it every single day, sometimes twice a day so I'm not terribly upset by the price difference! I definitely got my $50 worth! The Ninja ROCKS! Laughing

If you like to make smoothies like I do, you'll never use another blender or smoothie maker again! The dual stacked blades crush, blend and chop instantly! My Ninja has become one of those small kitchen appliances that stays on the counter at all times because we use it so much! I've used mine to make smoothies, margaritas, chop onions and black olives, make guacamole, salsa, chop veggies for veggie pizza, cream cooked cauliflower for soup, etc!

Not only do you receive the 48 oz pitcher but also the 2 cup processor bowl! All you do is lightly press down on the pulse button (great for those with arthritis) and that's it - your ingredients are chopped, stirred, mixed, or blended! All parts are dishwasher safe and each base has a non-slip bottom!

The bowl and pitcher also come with lids for when you make your recipe ahead of time and store it in the fridge like margaritas! If you want to read more revies about the Ninja, just go here!

I mentioned last night on the RKC Facebook that we were having Nacho Dorito Taco Salad for dinner and I had many email requests for the recipe. So I decided to add it to Rose's Rave Reviews - because yes, it is just that dang good! I really like this salad because you change it up each time you make it! Normally I only use 1lb of extra lean ground beef but because my nephews, ages 14 and 17, are spending the weekend with us I knew 1lb would just not cut it. I like to make a healthier version of this salad by using extra lean ground beef and fat free dressing - and I go easy on the Doritos!

My "healthified" recipe:

1lb extra lean ground beef
Taco seasoning
Fat Free Catalina dressing (you can also use Fat Free French or Western)
Head of lettuce
1 can of your choice of beans rinsed and drained (normally I use pinto but I had great northern on hand)
Black olives
Tomatoes
1 bag shredded cheddar (not shown)
Crushed Doritos (the amount you add is up to you - normally I use 1/4 bag but because I made such a huge recipe I used 3/4 of the bag)

Cook ground beef according to directions on taco seasoning. I prefer the salad cold so I cook the meat ahead of time to allow enough time to cool. Add all ingredients except Doritos. I prefer adding all the ingredients to a very large bowl, placing the cover on the bowl and shaking it. Right before you are ready to eat, add the crushed Doritos and mix them in! The last thing I like to add when plated is a dollop of fat free sour cream! YUM! Laughing

The nice thing about this recipe is that you can add whatever it is you please! Some ideas include chopped onion, chunks of avocado, jalapeņo or banana pepper slices, green and red pepper chunks, and even salsa!

I never thought a set of microfiber towels could make such a difference when cleaning. They are just towels right? Wrong. They are multipurpose, eco-friendly, cost effective and most importantly, THEY WORK!

A month before our house was completed I had a brilliant idea of saving money by using a stainless steel top for our kitchen island instead of granite or quartz. My husband commissioned the fabrication department at work to build us a stainless steel top that ended up costing us less than $200. A much better price than the granite or quartz! The first few days after we moved in I loved it! Day 4 I was going crazy with all the fingerprints. Yell I started using window cleaner and paper towel two, three, sometimes even four times a day. I was going through rolls of paper towel like crazy! I reused the paper towel sometimes, because it's not like the paper towel was actually dirty, it was just to remove the finger prints and smudges.

I then stumbled upon the Tupperware Microfiber Window & Mirror Cleaning Cloth and decided to give them a try. I thought $18.50 seemed a little steep but I had credit for my show and didn't really want any more Tupperware. 3 years later, after many many washes, I am still using the same two towels to clean most solid surfaces in my house. The $18.50 "investment" was so worth it. I go through 1/4 of the paper towel I used to. I use these towels to clean the stainless steel island, the windows, the patio door, and all of the stainless steel appliances. I could easily go through a roll of paper towel from just cleaning the kitchen and the bathroom mirrors! What's really nice about these towels is that you can just use water on most surfaces! To save on window cleaner I just use a spray bottle of water and vinegar!

So not only am I saving money on paper towel, but I'm saving money on the glass cleaner. Which is saving on the plastic bottles that don't need to be recycled, which also saves on the extra trash from the paper towel, which is also saving us money over time by using fewer trash bags. I know, that sounds silly...but I could easily fill up an entire trash bag with just paper towel when I clean.

So often we find ourselves complaining about a bad product or a product that was a waste of money that I thought it would be fun to share with you the products I love! With that being said I am adding Rose's Rave Reviews to the site! I'm simply going to share with you the products I love!

For this first Rave Review I'd like to share with you Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector!

For as long as I can remember my oldest sister has been a faithful Clinique user, and it shows. I can only hope when I am her age, I look as young as she does! At the beginning of last fall she gave me a bottle of Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Corrector because her beauty adviser gave her a few extra freebies during Bonus...due to the amount of money she had spent in one shopping trip! Shhh! Wink

I have had two dark spots on my face for about 5-6 years now. One was definitely an acne scar and I was informed by my doctor that the other was an age spot! EEEEEK! An age spot? In my youthful early 30's I have an age spot?! Yes, it's all my fault. It was sun damage. I used to spend way too much time in the sun without sunscreen. So I glady started to use this product! I would dab a very small amount on each spot morning and night. I noticed a major improvement in just two weeks! Yes, only two weeks! 3 months after I was using the product the spots were virtually GONE! I only wish I took a before and after picture!

The next time Bonus Time comes around I will definitely be purchasing this product! The minute I see my skin darken I will be applying it!

To find out when Bonus is in your area go here! Otherwise you can shop online at Clinique.com. Ebates is offering 5.5% cash back! Just sign in or sign up for Ebates and search Clinique!
